A Coral Gables man is behind bars after authorities say he beat and sexually battered his ex-girlfriend and held her against her will for several hours before she was able to escape.
Victor Daniel Parrondo, 30, is facing battery, sexual battery, false imprisonment and intimidating a victim charges in the Saturday morning incident, according to a Coral Gables Police arrest report released Tuesday.
Jail records showed Parrondo was being held on $36,500 bond Tuesday. It was unknown whether he has an attorney.
According to the arrest report, Parrondo and the victim, his former girlfriend, live together at a home on Lisbon Street, where they got into an altercation outside.
Parrondo grabbed the victim and dragged her to the front door, then pushed her into the home and a bedroom where the alleged sexual battery took place, the report said.
He struck her in the face, head, arms, legs and body, then “grabbed her by the throat, squeezed his hand, and threatened to kill her in a jealous rage,” the report said.
At one point, Parrondo took her cell phone and wouldn’t let her use it and when she tried to leave, she was forced to stay in the home, the report said. The victim was able to get Parrondo’s cell phone and call 911, but he hung it up, the report said.
After another altercation, the woman was finally able to escape and run to a neighbor’s house and scream for help, the report said.
The whole ordeal lasted about four hours, the report said.
