A gunman with his face covered by cloth ambushed a Deerfield Beach man as he left for work Wednesday morning and forced him back into his apartment, authorities said.

The armed man restrained the man and his wife in their apartment in the 400 block of Lock Road, said Joy Oglesby, a spokeswoman for the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

The armed man stole electronics and personal items from the couple’s home, Oglesby said.

The home-invasion robbery suspect wore a hooded grey sweater and a cloth over his face. He weighed about 145 pounds and was between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot 9, Oglesby said.

Investigators urge anyone with information about the armed robbery to call Detective Victor Carrasquillo at 954-321-4208.
