Police sergeant found guilty after stealing gasoline

A jury found a Miami-Dade Police sergeant guilty, Wednesday, for stealing gasoline intended only for use in his police cruiser.

Miami-Dade Police Sergeant Emil Lugo was convicted of stealing the gas and using it to fill up his wife’s car.

Lugo will remain out of jail while he awaits sentencing, which could result in as much as five years in prison.
