Security Guard Shot and Killed in Miami Gardens

A man walking to work was shot and killed in Miami Gardens and now police are trying to find the gunman.

Miami-Dade investigators say the murder may be connected to a rash of armed burglaries across the county. Police said they are following leads and while no official connection is being made between the murder and armed robberies, the clues are certainly not being ignored.

Investigators said 42-year-old Milton Morrison was just a half a block from his house Sunday morning walking to the bus stop to go to work when he was gunned down.

Morrison worked as a security guard and was wearing his uniform, police said. After taking a bullet he was able to walk to a neighbor’s house and told them he had been shot by two suspects in a white pickup truck. He Later died.

Miami-Dade Police said they’re looking into a 4-hour crime spree in the north end of the county around the same time Morrison was shot. There were at least six different scenes involving shootings and armed robberies. A white pickup truck reported in three of them.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
