Thief snatches $14,000 diagnostic computer at Miami store

MIAMI – Miami police are searching for a man who snatched a BMW diagnostic computer from a Miami business while posing as a customer.

The theft was reported Tuesday at Elrich’s Car Care, at 2041 NW 23rd Ave.

Miami police spokeswoman Kenia Fallat said the man took his time walking around the store and then snatched the unattended computer when no one was looking. He then ran out the door.

The diagnostic computer is valued at $14,000.

The thief is described as a black man between the ages of 20-30 years old. He was last seen wearing a red shirt, khaki shorts, a blue hat and white tennis shoes.

The man faces a grand theft charge if he is found.

Anyone with information about the thief’s identity is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
