A 16-year-old murder suspect has been arrested within a day of his identity being released to the public.

Nicolas Al Mondesir was being sought in connection with the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy and wounding of a 16-year-old girl, Hollywood police said Tuesday.

The shooting happened about 10:30 p.m. Thursday at the Holiday Motel, located at 1804 Funston Street.

Police say Mondesir shot at three people, hitting two. Both were taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood in critical condition. The 17-year-old died at the hospital, investigators said.

Detectives did not identify the victims, both of whom are juveniles. Police said all parties knew each other, and the shooting is believed to be an isolated incident.

A warrant was issued for Mondesir’s arrest on charges of premeditated murder and attempted murder.

The homicide investigation is ongoing and detectives are asking anyone with information about the shootings to call or text the Hollywood Police Department at 954-764-4357 or 954-967-4411. Tipsters can also e-mail hollywoodpdtips@hollywoodfl.org.
