4-Year-Old Driving Car Runs Over Toddler At Day Care

NBC New YorkA 4-year-old on Tuesday afternoon backed a day care center’s van over a 2-year-old while an employee loaded other children into the vehicle in New York.

The toddler was in critical but stable condition after the accident at the Busy Kidz Group Family Day Care in Staten Island, the Staten Island Advance reported.

The 4-year-old jumped into the driver’s seat while the van sat parked along the sidewalk, TV station WABC reported. The van rolled backward, hitting the other child, and kept going till it crashed through a gate about five houses away, the station said.

Police haven’t filed any criminal charges.

The day care center was closed up the day after the accident, according to reporters.
