Arrest Made In Elderly Man’s Murder In Pembroke Pines

PEMBROKE PINES (CBSMiami) – Pembroke Pines police said they have made an arrest in the murder of an elderly man.

Police said they have arrested 24-year-old Wesley James Perez in connection to the murder of an elderly resident of the Tanglewood Lakes community, along SW 100th Avenue and 6th Court.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was found dead outside of the home Sunday night. Police said he had been shot.

Neighbors say the man lived in the community for decades and had two grown children.

Police said Perez lives in the same community as the victim and was known by the murdered man.

Authorities said it appears to be an isolated incident and no safety alerts were issued to the surrounding community.
