Tracy Morgan officially files for divorce with prenup, wants estranged wife to drop his last name: report
Source: Daily news
Tracy Morgan reportedly is demanding his estranged wife drop his last name in their divorce.
The comedian filed his petition July 29, a day after wife Megan submitted hers, but the paperwork flew under the radar until TMZ.com dug it up Tuesday along with the peculiar name provision likely spelled out in a prenup.
Indeed, the splitting spouses agree they have a prenup in place, the website reported.
Megan, 33, reportedly is asking for sole legal and physical custody of the couple’s 7-year-old daughter.
Morgan, 51, wants joint legal custody and visitation, TMZ said.
“Sadly, after nearly five years of marriage, Megan and I are filing for divorce. This is a challenging time for all involved,” Morgan said in a statement to the Daily News last month.
The couple met in 2011 on a blind date.
They announced their engagement later that year at the Emmy Awards, welcomed their daughter in July 2013 and tied the knot on Aug. 23, 2015.
The marriage followed 14 months after Morgan was seriously injured in truck collision on the New Jersey Turnpike that killed one of his best friends.
The “Saturday Night Live” alum and “30 Rock” star was married to first wife, Sabine Morgan, for 23 years.
They divorced in 2009 and share three adult sons.
