Arrests Made In Shooting Of 2 NYPD Cops
Two suspects have been arrested in the shooting of a pair of NYPD police officers on Monday night in the Bronx.
CBS New York reports that two people are in custody in connection with the shooting, which took place after three plain clothes officers responded to a robbery call at a grocery store.
The suspected gunman in the robbery was arrested in the Bronx on Tuesday afternoon, according to WNBC.
The other suspect was arrested in Manhattan after police said he went to a hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound he suffered during the robbery Monday night.
The identities of the suspects have not been officially confirmed.
The New York Daily News identified the officers as Andrew Dossi, 30, and Aliro Pellerano, 38.
Neither of the suspects have been charged.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said both officers are expected to recover.
“They went above and beyond the call to protect their fellow New Yorkers,” de Blasio told reporters. “Thank God the officers are doing well and will recover.”
