Recently, CBS Miami reported on a string of late-night robberies in Miami, two of which took place in the fast food chain McDonald’s and one in a nearby Taco Bell. The incidents occurred within days of each other, and both involved three armed assailants. Despite the similarities between  the events, local police have yet to confirm if all three crimes are connected.

“They smashed the window, we thought it was with a gun but it was with a rock,” an unnamed witness of the McDonald’s robbery in Coconut Grove at told the news outlet. “They went in with guns drawn, they ordered everyone to the floor.”

The Miami New Times reported that two men – 19-year-old Eddie Thomasiv and 22-year-old Alan Westbrook – have been apprehended by police in relation the McDonald’s robbery that took place in Little Havana in the early hours of July 3. Sources have yet to indicate if the suspects in custody have secured a Miami criminal defense attorney.
