MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a fatal crash involving two vehicles Monday in northwest Miami-Dade.
The crash occurred around 1:45 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Okeechobee Road near Mile Marker 18, just north of 178th Street.
Video taken at the scene shows what appears to be a red Chevrolet SUV off to the side and several car parts and debris scattered around it.

One man is dead and another was injured in a shooting in Cooper City on Sunday.
Crime scene tape blocked off the 5000 block of South Flamingo Road as investigators tried to piece together what exactly led up to the shooting.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office said after a call for a shooting came in at 4:38 p.m., they showed up and found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – School districts that ignored Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis’ order banning mask mandates will face a $200 million penalty under a budget bill passed by the Florida House.
The funding stripped from those districts would be spread among the state’s other districts.

24 arrested Tuesday, sheriff says
BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – About 200 people have been arrested during a years-long investigation into a violent gang that is based in Deerfield Beach, 24 of whom were arrested on Tuesday, Broward Sheriff Gregory Tony announced during a news conference Thursday.
