MIAMI – A 21-year-old student sent an e-mail to CanesWear at Miami FanWear in Davie threatening to commit mass murder at the University of Miami in Coral Gables and at a middle school in Miami, police said.
Investigators identified the student as Kenny Espaillat, who withdrew from UM on March 18. They learned he had arrived at Miami International Airport from the Dominican Republic on Jan. 1.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Miami-Dade police are investigating a stabbing that left one man injured Monday morning.
Police said they received a call at 7:36 a.m. Monday in reference to a man being shot in the 13600 block of Monroe Street.
Officers arrived at the scene, however, to find that the victim had actually been stabbed in the chest.

Police said those people attacked officers who were trying to take a man into custody.
Those officers were trying to arrest a man for illegally riding a dirt bike on the road, but they said he resisted, and then others at the scene got physical with authorities.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Miami-Dade police are investigating a double shooting that occurred Friday morning outside a home in southwest Miami-Dade.
According to police, officers were called to a home at 20799 SW 234th St. in reference to two men who had been shot in the front yard.
Police said both were pronounced dead at the scene by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – Pembroke Pines police say a driver ran a stop sign before crashing their SUV into a girl who was riding her bicycle in the crosswalk.
Police confirmed that the incident occurred shortly after 2 p.m. outside Lakeside Elementary School in the area of Northwest 136th Avenue and 10th Street.
