Bruce Ratner, estranged wife begin multimillion-dollar divorce battle

Atlantic Yards developer Bruce Ratner faced off against his estranged wife, Park Avenue plastic surgeon Pamela Lipkin, at their first divorce proceeding in a Manhattan courtroom Tuesday.

The two sat at opposite ends of the room in Manhattan Supreme Court as their lawyers met behind closed doors with Judge Michael Katz.

Katz said later in court that he had discussed “proposals to see if there’s a way to amicably resolve” the dispute. He said he was “hopeful.”

Ratner’s attorney, celebrity divorce lawyer Robert Cohen, thanked the judge for “expediting” his multimillionaire client’s case.

Lipkin filed the contested proceeding in July after eight years of marriage, indicating she’s expecting a battle over the couple’s assets.

Ratner, who runs Forest City Ratner Cos., is worth an estimated $400 million.

Neither Ratner nor Lipkin would comment.
