Cameras roll as armed robber shoots man in NW Dade | Miami Herald
Man shot in the face in robbery, cops say. Confrontation caught on camera.
An armed robber on a bicycle rolled up to man who had just walked out of a Northwest Miami-Dade food market, demanded money and then shot him in the face, police said.
Much of the confrontation was captured on surveillance cameras outside Tony’s Food Market, 2541 NW 95th St.
On Monday, police released video from the incident, which happened at about 10:15 a.m. Saturday.
According to police, Diego Suarez-Perez, 39, was walking to his truck when the man on the bicycle approached him.
“Due to a language barrier the victim did not understand the subject’s demands, and was subsequently shot in the face by the subject,” police said in a news release.
Suarez-Perez was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.
The robber is described as being 6 feet, 2 inches, 180 pounds and was last seen wearing a yellow T-shirt with a Puma logo.
