Dad Charged After Baby Dies in Fall in Orlando
A young father is charged with child neglect after his 4-month-old daughter died from injuries sustained when her bouncy chair fell from a table.
The Orlando Sentinel reports the Orange County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of Mia Valentina Montes Balleste who died Tuesday, two days after falling from a table at their Orlando home.
Authorities say 18-year-old Heriberto Montes-Ramos Jr. was watching the baby while her mother ran errands. He told deputies he put her in an infant chair while he picked up toys. He heard a noise and found her unconscious on the floor.
The mother returned and the she was taken to a hospital.
She suffered a fractured skull, among other injuries.
It’s not known whether he’s hired an attorney
