Florida Woman Set Sleeping Husband on Fire: Deputies
A Florida woman set her husband on fire while he slept on a couch, then told him “Didn’t I tell you I’d burn your (rear) up?” when he woke up, authorities said.
Linda Jackson, 59, was booked into jail on a domestic battery charge following her arrest Tuesday, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said. She was being held Wednesday on $500 bond, and it was unknown if she has an attorney.
Jackson’s husband was sleeping in the couple’s home when he woke up around 3:48 a.m. and found his shirt on fire, the Bradenton Herald reported.
Jackson, who was sitting next to him on the sofa, told her husband, “Didn’t I tell you I’d burn your (rear) up?” the sheriff’s office said.
The victim was able to put out the fire and called 911. Deputies found scorch marks on his shirt when they arrived but the husband declined medical treatment, the report said.
Jackson denied her husband’s allegations but said she was the victim of an earlier aggravated battery, the sheriff’s office said.
