OPA-LOCKA, Fla. – Former NFL player Mark Walton’s legal troubles continue.

The 22-year-old talented running back who played for Booker T. Washington, the University of Miami, the Cincinnati Bengals and the Miami Dolphins is suffering. He has had six criminal cases in about a year. Three of them involve the mother of his baby.

Walton’s latest arrest was Thursday morning for allegedly violating a protective order. Officers responded to a domestic dispute about 3:30 a.m. at an Opa-locka home near the intersection of Northwest 32nd Avenue and Northwest 132nd Terrace.

The officers reported there was a verbal disagreement between him and the mother of his child.

The protective order was in effect last year after Walton was arrested for assaulting the mother of his child when she was pregnant Nov. 19 in Davie. She filed a restraining order against him in Broward County.

In 2016, he had been arrested for driving under the influence, but the charge was dropped and he was able to rejoin the Canes and moved on to play in the NFL.

The Bengals drafted Walton in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, but Walton’s behavior off the field later affected his career with the NFL.

After Walton was arrested three times during the offseason, the Bengals released him April 6, 2019. The Dolphins signed him May 12, 2019 and waived him on Nov. 19, 2019.
