In an incident still under investigation by local authorities, four men were injured after a firefight broke out at a Lauderdale Lakes apartment complex on April 27. It is unclear whether criminal charges will be made, or if any of the men involved have enlisted a Miami or Fort Lauderdale criminal defense attorney at this stage.

According to reports, law enforcement personnel from the Broward Sheriff’s Office arrived on the scene at around 4 p.m. after they were notified of a shooting at the Whispering Pines apartment complex on NW 36th Street. News outlets including CBS Miami and NBC South Florida stated that the fight began as a verbal dispute between 25-year-old Neville Lynch and 22-year-old David Rose. A man identified as an “associate” of Lynch’s attacked Rose, while Lynch and his step-father, 50-year-old Gilespie Isaacs, began shooting at him from a balcony. Rose was reportedly hit in the shoulder.

At that point, 25-year-old Mark Rose, who was with David when the fight broke out, began to return fire. He injured Lynch, Isaacs and another man on the balcony. As of April 29, Lynch was still in critical condition at a local hospital. NBC noted that the shooter was licensed to carry a concealed weapon, and that – based on initial analysis of the events – his actions “were justified.”
