Man Dies Falling From Wall After Cops Use Taser During Chase
ATLANTA (AP) — Police in the Atlanta area say a man died after falling from a wall during a police chase that involved a Taser.
Multiple media outlets report that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is reviewing Thursday night’s events involving DeKalb County police.
DeKalb County Assistant Police Chief Brian Harris tells the Atlanta Journal-Constitution ( http://on-ajc.com/1IuZVIi ) officers pulled over a car near an East Atlanta apartment complex. Harris says the man was a passenger in that car and ran during the stop.
He said an officer used a Taser as the man tried to climb an 8-foot wall and the man then fell over the wall.
The man’s name hasn’t been released. Harris said he was handcuffed at the scene due to the department’s protocol then transported to Grady Memorial Hospital where he died.
