Man requires Miami criminal defense attorney after neighborly dispute turns violent

Disputes over late night noise, property lines and other issues can be fairly commonplace among neighbors, but if these matters turn violent, a Miami criminal defense attorney may be necessary.

This week, NBC and CBS affiliates in Miami reported that “an ongoing dispute” between two men over the line between their properties and the exact location a fence would be built transitioned from a heated exchange to a physical fight. The argument started when one neighbor, who remains unidentified, confronted 48-year-old Hector Estrada about a gate that opened outward into the other man’s yard, NBC Miami stated.

At that point, the two men attacked one another, using garden hoes as weapons. However, Estrada eventually entered his home to retrieve a semi-automatic firearm. He then purportedly proceeded to shoot multiple rounds at his neighbor. Reports indicate that the victim suffered gunshot wounds in his leg and arm, and was taken to Kendall Trauma Center for treatment.

Estrada currently stands accused of attempted murder and is now in police custody. Sources indicate that it is not clear if he has secured a Miami criminal defense attorney to advocate on his behalf. The suspect reportedly told police that he acted in self-defense.
