“They are out of control,” South Miami police chief Orlando Martinez de Castro said in an interview with the news outlet. “They’re not going to stop.”

The suspects are armed with at least one semi-automatic pistol, which surveillance cameras have caught on tape. Police officers say that they appear to be experienced criminals who know what they are doing.

“What they do when they come in to the store is they make a purchase usually. It’s a cigar or something that they get from the cashier and they give her a bill to open the cash drawer and immediately one of the assailants pulls out a gun and the other one goes around the counter,” Matthew Flick, manager of the Pinecrest Shell Station — one of the businesses that was victimized — told the source.
