Two men who Miami Beach Police believe were involved in multiple thefts of WaveRunners and other personal watercrafts in the area will need to enlist the services of a Miami criminal defense attorney to ensure that they receive a fair trial.

According to CBS Miami, 23-year-old Yadiel Valera and 27-year-old Sergio Aguirre were arrested on May 5 after surveillance footage revealed that they had stolen two WaveRunners from a waterfront estate located near the Miami Heart Institute. The source reports that the suspects, who were dressed in wet suits and wearing ski masks to disguise their faces, set off an alarm at around 12 a.m. while they were in the middle of the robbery.

“These guys definitely knew what they were doing,” the homeowner, who asked to remain unidentified, told the source. “We saw live on the security system monitors these guys in masks, gloves and wetsuits driving off in our jet skis.”

Following the arrest of the suspects, law enforcement officials said that they believe the two men have been taking a number of personal watercrafts in the area in order to strip down the parts and ship them out of the United States. Valera’s police record reveals a history of stealing cars and selling them with fabricated vehicle identification numbers.
