North Miami Beach police confirm officer-involved shooting

AVENTURA, Fla. – North Miami Beach police are at the scene of an officer-involved shooting that occurred Thursday afternoon.

The shooting occurred in the area of Northeast 172nd Street and Biscayne Boulevard.

According to officials, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue was called in reference to a dog bite at a traffic incident. Two trauma alerts were then taken to Aventura Hospital.

No other details were immediately released.

Southbound lanes of Biscayne Boulevard remain open. However, northbound traffic from 172nd Street and Biscayne Boulevard is currently being rerouted as the investigation continues throughout the afternoon. Therefore, expect traffic congestion in this area.
