Deputies take 2 suspects into custody, still searching for a third
LAUDERDALE LAKES, Fla. – A car crash after a police chase ended up with two people taken into custody and a third on the run, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
BSO officials said that deputies from its Burglary Apprehension Team (BAT) saw three subjects in a blue Toyota Rav4 committing a burglary in the area of Southwest 126th Avenue and Southwest 20th Street in Davie.
BSO units followed the car into the city of Lauderdale Lakes.
Police said when the occupants inside the car spotted the police presence, they bailed out of the car on foot near the Somerset apartment complex off Southwest 26th Street.
A perimeter was established and deputies canvassed the area for the subjects. Two people who deputies believe were involved were located and taken into custody.
They were identified Thursday as Shamani Brown, 18, and Isiah Desauguste, 20.
Deputies are still searching for the third suspect.
