Police in Miami-Dade County investigating fatal shooting
3 people were shot around 9 p.m. Tuesday, according to police
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Police are in the early stages of investigating a triple shooting in Miami-Dade County.
It happened Tuesday evening in the area of Northwest 88th Street and 18th Avenue.
A heavy police presence was at the scene when Local 10 News’ Terrell Forney arrived, including officers and homicide detectives.
According to police, three men were standing outside of a home at 1741 Northwest 88th Street when either a single or multiple gunmen opened fire.
A 21-year-old man, identified as Kristopher Vega, was killed in the shooting. His 24-year-old brother was also shot and police say is in stable condition and recovering.
Another 22-year-old man is also in stable condition after being shot. He is not related to the two brothers.
Miami-Dade police said they received a call of multiple shots fired shortly after 9 p.m.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported the victims to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
