Police pursuit ends in Deerfield Beach with man connected to homicide in custody
DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. – A car chase on Interstate 95 with Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and Fort Lauderdale police in pursuit came to an end around 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Police said they were chasing a man wanted in connection to a homicide.
The suspect was spotted by Fort Lauderdale police officers near the Galleria Mall, where they attempted to stop him.
The chase ended in the area of Martin Luther King Avenue and Southwest Fifth Court in Deerfield Beach, where the suspect ditched his car and tried to run away, only to get caught and handcuffed.
Some witnesses told Local 10 News that gunshots were heard.
Police have not given any details on the suspect’s identity or what murder he is connected to.
