MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Police are looking for a white BMW SUV as they investigate a shooting near the Fontainebleau Miami Beach on Wednesday morning.

Miami Beach police say they received multiple 911 calls about a shooting that apparently involved two vehicles in the area of 44th Street and Collins Avenue.

The BMW SUV fled the scene of the shooting, and public information officer Ernesto Rodriguez said they believe the shooter was in that vehicle.

Nobody was seriously injured, Rodriguez said.

A white Mercedes that had been shot multiple times was located near 74th Street, police say.

A woman inside the Mercedes suffered lacerations, apparently from shattered glass, and was treated and released. She is expected to be interviewed by detectives, Rodriguez said.

Schools in the area were placed on lockdown as a precaution, but that lockdown was lifted, police say.

Anyone with information about the white BMW SUV is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
