A Sarasota woman has been charged with felony aggravated battery after a fight broke out between her and another woman on Wednesday afternoon, June 26. The Local Tribune reports that 32-year-old Kesha Taylor had gotten into a dispute with 38-year-old Linda Watkins because of a phone. While the details of the disagreement are unknown, the argument between the two women erupted into a full-blown fight when Watkins allegedly struck Taylor in the mouth, unprovoked, and then proceeded to bite her nose.
When police arrived on the scene at Fred Atkins Park, they discovered Watkins with a severe bite to her left ear. Taylor had apparently retaliated to Watkins’ attacks by biting her before driving away. Watkins was hospitalized at Sarasota Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Authorities charged Taylor with felony aggravated battery, indicating her attempt to “intentionally or knowingly cause great bodily harm, permanent disability or permanent disfigurement,” according to NBC Miami.
