Worker gets shocked, falls from ladder at FPL substation in Miami

MIAMI – Miami Police and Fire Rescue were called to a Florida Power & Light substation Wednesday morning after a worker was shocked while working on a ladder, authorities said.
The incident was reported at the FPL substation at 3701 Bird Road.
According to Miami Fire Rescue officials, witnesses said a man was working on a ladder about 8 feet above the ground.
They said wires that were arcing shocked him, causing him to fall from the ladder and suffer a head injury.
The victim was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition. It wasn’t immediately clear whether the victim works for FPL or a contractor.
No other details were immediately released.
