HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – It’s hot and trending on social media platform TikTok. It’s called the “Orbeez challenge” and it encourages kids to shoot at strangers and at each other.
The challenge is becoming a dangerous trend with young people shooting Orbeez, a specific brand of water beads, who are challenged to shoot them from splatter ball guns.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Fort Lauderdale police are investigating after a 7-year-old brought a gun to school Friday, authorities said.
Police were called to Dillard Elementary School at 2330 NW 12th Court just before 8 a.m.

HIALEAH, Fla. – A man has been arrested, nearly a month after a mother of two was killed over a parking space dispute in Hialeah, authorities confirmed.
Hialeah police said Brandon Zambrano, 22, was taken into custody Wednesday with assistance from the Broward Sheriff’s Office. He faces charges of second-degree murder, petit theft and burglary.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – South Florida students are continuing to hold protests against Florida’s so-called “Don’t Say Gay” bill Thursday, which lawmakers passed earlier this week and which the governor is expected to sign into law.
